Home

We are a family of 6 souls, created by the Hand of God and placed together on this earth in one family by His sovereign will. We are originally from Litchfield County, Connecticut; recently from Jefferson County, New York. There are five children in our family, four boys and one girl who was stillborn.

We are thankful to God that He has given us life, and that He has put us together to grow in grace. We know that God has made each one of us for one purpose, that is to glorify and bring honour to Him. We also understand that God has left His children on this earth for one purpose, to lead the lost to His saving knowledge. God cares for those that are separated from Him by sin, He cares so much that He gave His Son to die for them. I encourage you to read the story  for yourself, and see what it is that would cause us to give up everything for His cause, because He first loved us!

To read about how we started in Ecuador, visit our 'About' page. To see individual profiles of our family, view our profiles. For contact information, go to our 'Contact Us' tab. To e-mail us: if you have 'Microsoft Outlook' or a similar program, just click the tab on the side bar. If you don't have software of that type, copy the address, and paste it in your online e-mail (contact@blossers4ecuador.com). We also have a page where we've listed links to web pages that have been an encouragement to us. May God bless you, and give you a new inspiration to serve Him to your fullest by reading about us. Till He comes again!     Mark  Alan

About Ecuador

Ecuador is a representative democratic republic in South America, bordered by Columbia on the north, by Peru on the east and south, and by the Pacific Ocean to the west. The country also includes the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, about 600 miles west of the mainland. Ecuador straddles the equator, from which it takes its name, and has an area of 98,985 sq. miles. Its capital is Quito (pop. 1,482,000), its largest city is Guayaquil, pop. of 2,090,000. The countries population is 13,922,000 people, 2008 estimate. The official language is Spanish, with many other local and tribal languages. The currency is U. S. dollars, although they do make their own coins. The per-capita is $3,927. The religion breakdown is 95% Roman Catholic, and 4% Protestant; although in the rural areas alot of indigenous beliefs are mixed in with Catholicism. Education is free, with a mandatory attendance age of 5-14; even though the class sizes are very large. In the rural areas, only 10% of the children go on to high school.

Our vision

In Ecuador, we have one vision or mission, with several different areas that we are working in. Our sole purpose is, as we stated above, to bring the saving grace of Jesus Christ to the lost and hurting. Our main vision is to help a tribe of natives reach their lost relatives in the jungles around them. So our primary focus is to work in the jungles with the native people, most of whom have never heard of the saving love of their Creator. There are several steps in that process, however, and there is always the drawbacks of having to learn several new languages. For the first step, we will be endeavoring to learn the culture and language in the towns/cities. There are two works in which we will be assisting; the first, we will be helping the missionary who had invited us to the country in building a church and schoolhouse. They are currently without a church building, and wish to start their own private school; so they are constructing a building to suit their needs. The church is also very evangelistic, and we will be 'spreading the word' on the streets. Secondly, there is an orphanage not too far away that houses over 50 children, roughly 13 and under. many of the children are either orphans, or have been left by their father/mother. The needs there are plenteous as well, from cooking, baking, and doing the laundry to just holding the little children. It is heart-wrenching to see the number of babies that are never held enough, which affects their emotional well being, and to hear their whimpers and cries as they are put down so that you can hold another needy infant.
